The Game album finally out

After several months of waiting for The Game's new album, The Documentary is finally out. I knew subscribing to Amazon's RSS feeds would come in handy.

G-G-G-G-G-Unit!!!

I was actually writing up a review on this album on my blog, but I never got around to posting it. Maybe I'll do that now.

I think Game sums up this whole album with a line on "We Ain't" (something like): "How could I not do a million / rhyming on dre beats".

The production is superb, but I've just never been too impressed with Game lyrically. He has a nice flow at times, but he just really doesn't seem to say much.

With Em, 50 and Lloyd Banks, the lyrical talent is at the forefront. When I listen, I constantly notice clever lines and creative delivery. I don't see that with The Game. Like I said, sometimes the only thing special on the song is the beat it's on :)

That said, the album is GOOD... there are a few songs with great hooks and great beats. I just don't put it up in the same echelon as some of the other G-Unit / Aftermath albums :)

I'm rather underwhelmed by Game as a rapper. The only reason I've been waiting for the album is so I can hear new G-Unit/D-12 collabos not to hear Game's played out rhyme style.

I'm not sure who I like less on Shady/Aftermath; Obie Trice or Game.

Actually, I should add - in fairness, this is the best I've heard him.

The Game is definitely my least favorite, although I probably like this album better than Obie's. I actually don't mind Obie that much. I wouldn't mind them telling Bizarre to stop rapping though :)
