Today some guy in the hallway mistook me for the other black guy that works in our building. Like we all look alike. Or there can only be one black guy that works in a building at Microsoft. Must be a quota. :)

Then I find this video in my RSS feeds and surprisingly I find my name mentioned in the comment threads.

Too bad it wasn't funny.

"His dad was even the Nigerian President."

Which makes you somehow ... blacker?

that isn't even funny - at all. I couldn't even watch the whole thing. Some people are so ignorant.

Dare you're such a sucker. They're going to have a field day with you.

Where are the (insert racial group) tech bloggers?

:sigh:

It's good to know tech punditry and video blogging is so accessible. If it wasn't, the stupidity found between the imagination to the publishing of that video would have been caught.

Dare is, by far, my favorite black tech blogger. #2 isn't even close.

I am not sure if this video is/is not funny. I am not sure what a stereo-type is any more. Perhaps it is an HD-type these days. I am still back in the 60s with all the Black Panther philosophy and "Power to the People" and my fist in the air.
I see all the Hip-Hop movement as the brothers doing the tech.

What. The. Fuck?!? That's the last 1938 video I ever watch, and Podtech by association. If PodTech don't have the balls to stand up against this sort of bullshit then they really aren't worth the time - no matter how much value they think their tech videos provide.

This clown is an Oxygen thief. This is what happens when you give clowns some access to the internet.

this is the worst piece of lazy, racist, stereotypical crap i have seen in a long time. somebody needs to go bust a cap in that cracker's ass!

Wow, he just embarassed himself. He's now firmly in my category of ignorant baby boomers who can't go extinct fast enough. Imus, Locke, Powers, and now Feldman. Unbelievable how much effort he put into it -- he must have thought he was producing something really amazing. How clueless.

What's sad is that he's just vocalizing what a lot of people truly think and keep to themselves.

That racist dude in the video... He can be so happy that he is on the other side of the pond... Else I'd jumped in my car and drive to his place and just beat him down to a bloody pulp.

Here we go around again on the same carrousel. And even more idiotic I'm about to take a ride. I guess it’s impossible for the tech sector not to eventually get polluted by those who are governed more by emotions than that by thought. I’m going to avoid giving my opinion of other people opinion and just say that I had a good laugh when I saw the video. Is it the funniest thing I’ve seen? No. It is not. I personally have no problem with people who are not black sharing their perception of black culture. I’m not sure how it came about that if you’re not black you cannot publicly say nor do anything that a black person may perceive as negative toward black people or culture. In my opinion it is stupid, ridiculous, moronic, idiotic, and … Did I say stupid? I’m beginning to wonder if this reaction isn’t really about “middle class” blacks being ashamed of who black people in general are. Yes. I’m taking liberty with that generalization but you know what I meant.

Michaelw,
I'll repeat the same comment I left in Loren Feldman's blog posts.

Any reasonable individual with a modicum of critical thinking skills should know how to differentiate between the gangsta rappers you see on MTV and black people in the IT industry. How silly would this post seem if it was about "white tech bloggers" and it referenced living in a trailer park, taking meth and having a penchant for cheating on your spouse? Or if it was about East Asians tech bloggers and referenced working at 7-11 and driving cabs.

The only thing funny about the video was how much of a fool Loren Feldman character was making for himself in a desperate attempt to gain popularity through controversy. Good luck, it’s worked for less talented hacks.

I never heard of this Feldman idiot before, but I'm going to go subscribe to his blog just so I can have the satisfaction of un-subscribing.

Compare Loren Feldman with Sacha Baron Cohen.

Who he? Another nice Jewish boy whose Ali G persona worked ... a case of intelligence, observation, clever writing and wit (Cohen) vs. unfunny fuckwit (Feldman).

But where are the black/brown/yellow/green/hausa/yoruba/etc. bloggers? Didn't that meme die, maybe 20+ years ago? A filler post. Puh-leeze!

dare you're too easily offended. how many black comedians do jokes involving how white people talk? the shoe is simply on the other foot. no sacred cows.
