Blog Parody

Robert Scoble has posted a parody of some of the A-list of blog wanking which seems to have gotten some incensed because it is fairly accurate. I don't read most of the political blogs so I can't vouch for their accuracy but the following two caricatures are spot on
Dave Winer

I am King of the Whole Wide World. Microsoft is pure evil, they want to steal your kids, salt your lawn, plant greenish-oozed nuclear waste in your laundry detergent. I, however, have only the best of intentions. Comments? Sorry no can do. But trust me. Link Link Link Link to my supporters. Slam slam slam the ones I hate. Backstab here, backstab there. Change this spec here, change that spec here. RSS Spec fight here, RSS Spec fight there. Only thing worse than Microsoft are the morons at SixApart. Change spec - here, there and everywhere. Disagree? Then you are Evil Incarnate. Unreadable unmanageable code here, unreadable unmanageable code there. How to Disinfluence People and Tick-Off the Entire World via Blog. Anyone who was under the mistaken impression that Bloggers all get along hasn't met me.

Speaking of blog parodies it seems to be about time for another parody of K5 user's posting styles to make the rounds in the Diary GhettoTM .

The First Resume

Reading GW's (pronounced G-Dub) resume I can't help remembering all those TV shows I watched as child where a parents tried to inspire their kids to work hard and do the right thing so that "one day they could be president". Reading through the resume there are some things that seem inaccurate but not significantly so (just enough to get rabid Bush supporters like trhurler to dismiss the entire article). The resume also seems to repeat some items several times each time rephrasing them a little bit differently.

What I find interesting is that some of the bullet points range from downright amusing such as
  • First year in office set the all-time record for most days on vacation by any president in US history.

  • First president in US history to enter office with a criminal record.

to the downright scary such as
  • Removed more checks and balances, and have the least amount of congressional oversight than any presidential administration in US history

  • Dissolved more international treaties than any president in US history.

  • Cut healthcare benefits for war veterans

  • Removed more freedoms and civil liberties for Americans than any other president in US history.

Matrix Reloaded Review (potential spoilers)

First of all, I need to gush about the previews. The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen looks hot as [surprisingly] does Terminator 3. On the other hand Last Samurai seems puke inducing. Now on to the Matrix Reloaded.

Fantastic action scenes. In the words of Neill Cumpston, "MATRIX: KINGDOM OF ASS-KICKING is like if all of Anthrax?s albums formed into a hot chick who had to fuck you ten times a day or she gets pee-cancer."

However, the movie needs to win a Golden Turkey just for Morpheus's fantastically bad and extremely corny speech just before the pointless rave scene. My other big problem with the movie is that they seemed to go overboard with their attempts to bash folks over the head with cheap psychology and a desire to mindfuck the audience. Maybe the fact that a surprising number of college professors and other people you'd associate with having sense kept drawing parallels to the Matrix and Plato's allegory of the cave they decided to focus on another topic that philosophers can't some to quite gabbing about; predestination. I also was fairly irritated by how the Oracle described how program's behave as if code has free will. What is suprising is that most of the geek crowd seem to have lapped this up.

I have also seen some people ask the question Is Zion in the Matrix?. Well, Duh.
