I’m now at the point where I really, really, really want to blog but have too much going on at work and at home to take the time out to do it. To deal with this I’ve created a Twitter account. You can follow me at http://twitter.com/Carnage4Life.

Things I’ll eventually write about in my blog

  • Amazon Simple DB
  • A new release of RSS Bandit shipping this weekend
  • Thoughts on integrating RSS Bandit and Google Reader based on information found from the pyrfeed documentation
  • Expressiveness of Python vs. C# 3.0

In the meantime, you can get my thoughts on various topics in 140 characters or less from Twitter.

PS: I’m amazed at how obnoxious Twitter is about collecting the password to your GMail/Yahoo/Hotmail/etc account so it can spam your friends. At first glance, it looked as if it wouldn’t even let me use the service until I gave up those passwords. This crap has gotten out of hand.

PPS: Anyone got decent recommendations for a Twitter client that works on Vista and XP?

Good twitter client: Snitter - http://snook.ca/snitter

My recent favorite is Witty (http://code.google.com/p/wittytwitter/). It's based on WPF and I think it is the best looking client on Windows and it works without any problems. It's only missing notifications (except sound) but I rather check for new tweets when I feel the need to.

I lot of good that does me. My company blocks Twitter, Facebook, MySpace, Flickr, Blogspot, etc., etc., and at home my kids never get off the computer for me to use it. My first life doesn't allow me to have a second life.

I second the vote for Snitter.

I've been digging Witty. Much stabler with the 1.5 release. I'll have to give Snitty a looksee.

+1 for Snitter it has more features.

I live in Outlook so I have enjoyed OutTwit from http://www.techhit.com/. It doesn't have all the features of other clients but the Outlook integration sold it for me.

I like your blog and am looking forward to the next RSS Bandit. I hope you don't mix media and pollute your blog with Twitter. I've seen several do it ended up unsubscribing as find the endless Twitter clutter annoying

I used twitterlicious, but later reverted to browser based twittering - not using it too much anyway.
As for polluting the blog with Twitter - I think a "daily digest" is not a bad thing. But YMMV.

TwitterBerry did it for me. Before that, I never got into Twitter because of the context-switching necessary to post to it.

Oh and of course the ever popular Twadget for Windows Sidebar:

I tend to prefer this one, since it's unobtrusive and there within eyesight.
